April

April~ Love it, it's always so crazy, my sister and I both have birthdays, we have Easter, Ann.'s, taxes, more b-days and I've had a few shoots to share so I thought I would!
First off was our friend "D"'s b-day. We had a surprise party for her and it was so nice to see everyone:
This is Izzy with grandma, isn't she cute!
Then my second cousin Erin Zimmerman wanted engagement photos done. We haven't seen each other in so long so it was nice.
Then we have Jayden!!! Meghan and Joe are friends of my brother and sister in-law and referred me, that just puts a big smile on my face knowing they think my work is good enough to "refer" ;-) Jayden was SOOOOO good, what a cutie, I think my favorite is with the hat....
On the 16th my sister in-law had her big run, the weather was crap, but she pushed through and did it! We are all so proud of her!
I had a shoot that day for Mary (one of Jason's old teachers) so we didn't go. That day Christy also had Ultimate Frisbee at Ripon for little "o"'s college fund but we couldn't make that either (they were on the news!)
As for Mary's shoot, she had a BIG family! I did my best but it's sort of hard to get this many people looking the right way!
Aidan~ this couple I shot a year or so back for their wedding. I just love that my bride and grooms still think of me to do their baby pictures as well!
Then last but not least! Chase!
He was so super good that day. I have worked with this family for the past two years and have gotten some great images. Jessica (mom) wanted to do a progressive shoot while she was pregnant, I had never done one before so we gave it a go!

And that was APRIL!

Yesterday was my 31st birthday and Jason and I celebrated it with a lot of our friends at Sunset in Fond du lac. A friend of ours "D" was turning 50. We had a great time, it was so nice to see people I haven't seen in a long time and just get out.

Today Jason and I went to mom and dad's house, LOVE this tradition, we try to go to mom and dad's as many Sundays as we can.
Mom set out Easter eggs for the kids to find and we all had a blast!! Rachel, Eli and I played kitchen (which I think I played until I left the house for college playing Zimmy's restaurant) so it was a lot of fun seeing all the old toys and playing with them again, I think I might have been a little OCD when Eli put the wrong lettuce in the Big mac and I said, "no Eli that goes with the house salad" he just looked at me like, ummm OK aunt Cara ;) Kate is really getting funny and she put on a great show with little O. Really I don't know what we did when there weren't kids around, it must have been so boring;)

Be happy and live life!

Wedding planning

Brides are crazy people and now I know why!!!
I've really started to get things done and on the books with vendors for our wedding in Oct. Man is this a crazy job. There are sooooo many things you have to do that no one else can really do. I have so many wonderful friends and family that want to help but just have nothing for them right now. Thanks everyone, once invitations come in we can all work on those! Oh, I actually do need some help cutting the bottoms off of corks and then have a slit in the top. I'm sure I can just google how to do it but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Mom and I went to the bridal store to try on bridesmaid dresses and it was so cute, all these people kept stopping saying, "wow, you look amazing in that dress" NOPE not talking to me! My mom is so hot ;) Love you mom.

This week I have another birthday, whoo hoo, I think when you are young and really love birthdays maybe we should have two and then when we are older and don't really care about them (other than being happy to be alive and healthy) that we don't really need them. (looked for a picture from last year but can't find it....)

As for work it's going really well. I have 4 shoots the 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th so I'm really excited things are picking up. Everything with my photography seemed to work out so well with my health and now that I'm feeling soooo much better it's nice that I can get back into it! Here is a couple of images from one of my favorite engagement sessions lately.

Today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow.

Hello all~
Just wanted to write a quick note and say THANKS! Every day I am so blessed to have the people in my life that I have. Sometimes people forget to say "I love you" or "thank you" and I think I might over use them ;-)You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Spring is on the way which means new beginings, new life. I can't wait to go outside and plant some flowers, hang out with my nieces and nephew, go camping, have a fire and even pull weeds!
Life is such a gift and like my sister in-law says, "There is always a reason to smile" (great advise)

Family

Grandma Zim with Kate.

OK everyone, are you ready for some football?! I know I am! Today my fiance Jason and I will be going out to my parents house to watch the game. My sister Christy and her baby Olivia will be there too. This is something our family tries to do every Sunday, get together and just hang out. We have done this since we were little but then we would go to Grandma Zim's house where all of our cousins (18 in total) would be as well. We would eat pizza, play and drink soda out of glass bottles. What I didn't realize is most people don't do this, they may go to their parents but don't see their cousins. I guess what I'm getting at is I'm so thankful to have such a close family. Now that we have gotten older and some of us have children of our own the tradition is still there. The thing I miss is seeing my cousins as much as I would like..... Happy Sunday, I hope you are spending it with your family because you never know what tomorrow will bring! (had a little problem with captions and moving pictures around, hopefully I figure it out ;-)

Happy Saturday

Hello everyone!
Today it has been 6 months (can't even believe it) since my sister lost her husband Patrick, so in honor of him I've decided to post some of the pictures that I took of him for his website, blog and comedy. I know I have shared these a few times but it doesn't hurt to put a smile on our faces in memory of Patrick.
We had so much fun that day, I don't think I have ever laughed harder than I did that day. I'm so glad we did this.
Enjoy!

I can just hear him laugh! I love these ;-)

This one was called, business on the top, party on the bottom.

This last one is my favorite, I was crying I was laughing so hard!

Lori and Rob

This is Lori and Rob, I did there wedding about a year ago so I was super excited when they called and wanted a baby belly shoot. Lori and Rob look like models so this shoot was super easy! Their little girl was just born the other day and I can't wait to see her and take her pictures too. I just love this little couple I hope you do too!
